The motto of the this year’s competition was “Data Mining for Bestsellers”.
Task
The task of the DMC Competition 2009 was to forecast purchase quantities for several titles as exactly as possible. To guarantee a highly relevant to practical situations, this year Libri GmbH partnered with the DATA MINING CUP.
For the first time the DMC 2009 Competition was open for teams. Two teams of every educational institution were allowed to participate.
